The purpose of this project is to develop a citywide Bicycle Pedestrian Master Plan based on a collaborative and inclusive planning process that reflects the needs and desires of the community. An overarching project goal is to integrate bicycle and pedestrian modes as part of the City’s overall mobility strategy. This Master Plan will serve as a blueprint for the City of Delray Beach to create a robust, safe, comfortable, and convenient network of bicycle facilities and sidewalk network throughout the city as well as provide connectivity to regional non-motorized transportation network.

The development of a Master Plan (Plan) is a result of a collaborative, consensus-building process. It will entail significant coordination with City and County elected officials and City Department Heads and Senior Staff, Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), the Palm Beach Transportation Planning Authority (TPA), Palm Tran, Delray Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), Delray Beach Downtown Development Authority (DDA), the Delray Chamber of Commerce, other relevant state, regional and local government agencies, residents, business owners, bicycle groups and the public to ensure proper coordination with affected parties. It will reflect the values and needs of the communities it is designed to benefit.
